Branson Murder Mystery Dinner Theater presents Murder on the 76 Trail, much to the delight of interactive theater fans looking for a good time! This isn’t your typical theater production; the audience sits amidst the action, and even gets recruited to participate.  More than 15 of the characters in the show come right out of the audience!  And those crazy enough to volunteer will get their very own six-shooter and cowboy hat; the hat is real, the gun is not.

This insanely funny production revolves around the story of Branson folks who seem to be mysteriously dying off.  Loosely based on genuine Branson history, the story includes some right colorful characters, and if yer brave enough, you just might get to play one! You could end up being one of those heinous (or heroic, if you prefer the romanticized portrayal) James brothers, Jesse and Frank, who notoriously hid out in the Ozarks hills. Maybe you’ll be frontierswoman, Calamity Jane, or that other famous female who could outshoot any embarrassed cowboy, the feisty Annie Oakley.  No matter what role you win, it’ll be one of the most memorable of your career in the Wild West...well, if the West were still wild, that is.  And no worries, if you’d rather be a happy observer, there’s no pressure to begin your Branson acting career during this show!

Written by the hilarious star of the Comedy Hypnosis Show, Jecobie Roberts, Murder on the Trail is more fun than you’ve ever had at the theater!  There’s not a single slow moment in the entire show, you’ll hear folks yellin’, guns shootin’, and even the whistle of a train now and again - how can that much noise not be fun? These fine folks have thrown on their spurs, slapped on the chaps, and just can’t wait to bring the best of Old West story tellin’ to the Branson stage!  Get in on the act and help find the rotten varmint who’s knocking off the good folks of Branson, or sit back and make fun of those who do!  It’s sure to be a rootin’ tootin’ heck of a grand ole’ time as the Branson Murder Mystery Dinner Theater presents Murder on the 76 Trail!

"Fun evening"

Rating of 5 stars  Reviewed June 10, 2017
We enjoyed the show and also the buffet style dinner. The performers were funny and very interactive. They drew the audience in, not only the ones with assigned parts, but included everyone. We would recommend the show to anyone interested in a fun, entertaining evening.

"Do. Not. Do. It."

So, let's just start out by saying that I have seen my fair of shows that weren't the best, but I could at least sit through them. This one, not even close. My husband and I left after intermission...we somehow managed to stay for over an hour and a half. It was about 100 bucks for both of us to go...and it wasn't even close to worth it. Buffet food with a whopping 5 items on folding tables. There were foam plates and plastic silver. You could have water or tea to drink...very disappointing. The actors forgot their lines multiple times. It was supposed to start at 4 and they said multiple times that we couldn't start till 5 (for whatever reason) and then one actor said we would start, and then went back stage and we heard another (very rude) actor say "Well, we are NOT starting till 5, so!" (Her mic was supposed to be off.) So, the audience just sat there staring at each other for about 30 minutes. Then, once it began, we couldn't even follow the story. Overly cheesy, overly unorganized. And I tried to sit through it with an opened mind. There are tons of great shows in Branson, don't make the mistake we did, and miss out on a good show by seeing this awful thing for an awful amount of money!!!

"Terrible Show"

Rating of 1 stars  Reviewed December 30, 2016
I can't believe we paid $40 per person for something worse than a high school play. The awful temporary decor is equal only to the screeching by the main actress. Can't follow the plot, don't care enough to try. My son had chanted "murder mystery!" so we selected this over the Dixie Stampede - huge mistake.

"Don't waste your time or money"

No trip to Branson would be complete without going to at least one or two shows. Wished we had picked another show. The address on our tickets was for their old address not the new address. We arrived at the old address to find the parking lot empty and the building being remodeled into something else. They are now in a convention room of the "White House". This was a sign of things to come. The room was set up with folding tables and chairs and a plastic table cloth. There was a buffet line in back also on folding tables. They had foam plates and cups instead of real plates and glasses. The food was fair at best. The show was very average community theater. I enjoy going to small community theater but when I end up paying the same price as going to a Dixie Stampede or Branson Belle I expect more. The only bright spot was the actor really were trying to make this a good show. We purchased our tickets from Vacations Made Easy. Which turned out to be not easy and they over charged our group. The ticket takers could not give a refund and said I need to contact Vacation Made Easy When I booked the tickets, I was told we would be placed in the center and paid more for better seating. We when arrived, there was not assigned seating and could not see half of the show. Vacations Made Easy called me several time before our trip to try to sell me more shows and timeshare tours. Thank goodness I resisted. With such selection is shows in Branson, try something else!

This was the 2nd time we have visited Branson and this show was the best one yet. This was interactive and so much fun to watch. The food was excellent and plenty of it. I highly suggest this show to anyone.
