A Shepherd’s Christmas Carol Dinner Show gives Branson another fascinating look at characters from the legendary and beloved Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama, a production that’s been delighting audiences for nearly 60 seasons! In the original production (based on Harold Bell Wright’s best-selling novel that shares his experiences with the hillfolk of the Ozarks,) an unforgettable cast of characters was introduced; in this new holiday story, we catch up with Ollie Stewart, who’s heart was broken by Sammy Lane when she fell for his childhood friend and rival, Young Matt Matthews. This Christmas tale has the neighborhood, including Mandy Ford and Uncle Ike, trying their best to include irascible Ollie in their holiday festivities, complete with all the hilarity, friendship, and affection that follows!

In years past this was a 6/5 show that I looked forward to ever year! I've been a life long fan, and it was one of the highlights for my Christmas season; however, for reasons I can not understand, Silver Dollar City choose to change all of the songs, and to a lesser extent, the dialogue. All of these changes were detrimental to the production. Disappointed is an understatement! Hopefully Silver Dollar City will see these comments and revert to the old production. - sincerely a life long yet very disappointed fan

If you haven’t seen this production previously you may love it, but if you have seen it other years you will notice most of the songs have changed… I am guess they lost the copyrights or they got too expensive. It definitely took the quality down a few notches. We were sad 😞

I'm a little bitter only because they changed all the music. This is typically a five star show with a wonderful cast, but if something isn't broke, don't fix it! Hopefully they bring back the old songs in the future (When Christmas comes to town, walking home, God made me special, little alter boy, God bless us everyone) you know all the songs that brought joy and tears and made the show so popular.
