The story takes place in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist country church in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, circa 1938. The Sanders Family Singers have been invited by the young, enthusiastic Pastor Oglethorpe to perform at the church’s first Saturday Night Gospel Sing. Eager to appear perfect in the eyes of the small congregation, the Sanders Family proves, much to the audience’s delight, that they are anything but! It’s their flaws and quirky nature that ends up endearing them to the congregation; and since this is Branson after all, the audience becomes the congregation, singing along to 30 classic gospel songs!
Smoke on the Mountain is a popular play that’s been seen on major stages around the country, and now it’s become a Branson favorite! Funny Funny Show
This is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Laughed from the beginning to the end. I recommend if your heading to Branson this is a must to see.

Love at First Sound
From the first sound of part of the cast comes crashing in until the very last song we were in stitches. This is the funniest and entertaining show in Branson.We have seen the show several times and plan on seeing it when we return to Branson next fall. A must see and experience for the family. Even if you can't sing June will teach you to sign. Now our family doesn't sing we just sign!

Really Good!!!!!!!!!
A hilarious spoof on a program conducted in a Baptist Church. The 'special' featured singing family was a stitch and we really laughed! Especially funny was the 'daughter' who couldn't sing...BUT she could sign! Truly laughed a lot! Great humor! Will definitely see again if we come to Branson.

MY FAVORITE SHOW IN BRANSON
I HAVE SEEN "SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN FIVE TIMES. THE FIRST TIME SAW IT WAS AT THE "NEW DINNER THEATER" IN KANSAS CITY. I HAVE SEEN IT FOUR TIMES IN BRANSON. I LOVE THE CAST, SINGING AND THE COMEDY!! I THINK IT IS HILARIOUS!!! I HOPE TO SEE IT THE NEXT TIME WE GO TO BRANSON!

Best in the world
We have seen the show twiced and love it . It was a good clean funny show would recommend it to anyone or families to go see and enjoy thanks for giving us a great show and making it so very enjoyable for all to see and enjoy we are going to be there again this year

I was a bit ambivalent about going to this show but qm so glad that I did. It's not every show that combines great music with a funny story AND at least 4 comedians!

I would NOT take my children. They don’t understand yet. Maybe when 15 or 16. Somewhat funny. Definitely for an older crowd. The singing was great and the cast put everything they had into it!

This show is ALOT OF FUN! Wholesome, uplifting, toe tapping - we laughed and smiled through the entire performance. It's a small theater setting and the audience is a part of the audience (as the church congregation)! Don't miss this GEM! This was our 2nd time seeing the show, and we’re looking forward to next time!

Was a great surprise. Talented folks and I really enjoyed the music and musical talent on the stage. Wasn't what we were expecting for sure compared to the rest of Branson. Definitely for the "older crowd' but well done.
