We love telling you about the entertainment you’ll find in Branson, and about where to shop for souvenirs, clothes, and other “fun” stuff to take back home, but what about those times - and everyone has them - when you need the basics? Forgot socks? Didn’t pack enough diapers for the baby? You remembered your golf clubs, but forgot that you were down to your last golf ball? No worries! Branson has you covered - all over town, in pretty much every area, you’ll find everything from convenience stores to pharmacies. We’re not listing every pharmacy, convenience store, or other basic needs stores in this post (there are two Walmarts, but we decided to give you other options,) but there’s certainly enough here to make it easy to find what you need!
If you’re staying in a condo, cabin, campground, or lodging anywhere else that allows for preparing a meal or two and staying in for dinner, you’ll need to find a convenient market or two. Here’s where to buy groceries in the Branson area:
1. Country Mart: This popular, mostly local grocery store (there are four in the Branson area, and two in Kansas,) offers a wide variety of produce, meats, frozen foods, packaged shelf items, beer/wine/liquor and, at the location on Highway 248, a nice selection of health foods and imported items.

2. Rhodes Family Price Chopper: The only full-service grocery on Branson’s famous Strip - Highway 76 - Price Chopper is a favorite for locals, and features a butcher-manned meat department, fresh salad bar, a large liquor section, health foods including gluten-free, Mexican groceries, and bakery - and everyone loves their “Salad Bar Tuesdays!”

3. SunFest Food Market: This small but well-stocked market is one of those hidden treasures, but special enough, even area residents will go out-of-their-way to shop here! Onsite meat cutters offer personal service, hot foods are available daily to go, and everyone loves their chicken and seafood Fridays. Check out the produce section, you’ll often find locally grown items like tomatoes, as well as hydroponically grown produce.

4. Harter House: A small, regional chain that’s well-known for its’ large meat counter, and a well-trained staff of meat-cutters providing special request cuts and other services. Their Branson area location is in the neighboring town of Hollister, and the other store is in neighboring Kimberling City - both offer first-rate meat counters and service.

5. Family Pharmacy: This regional pharmacy chain operates five Branson-area locations, offering an expanded selection of medical supplies and equipment and nice gift shop items. If you’re looking for over-the-counter pharmacy items, or need to fill a prescription from local urgent care or hospital services, this is an excellent option for friendly customer service.

6. CVS Pharmacy: Branson offers two locations for this popular national brand - a free-standing store on Loyd Street near Historic Downtown, and a location in the Target store. You can expect to find the usual prescription services, as well as a variety of over-the-counter medications and supplies.

Take Note: Although the address is Loyd Street, that CVS location faces Main Street/Highway 76 and sits right across from an on/off ramp for Highway 65. The Target location is in Branson Hills, just a minute or so south of the Highway 76 exit off 65. (You’ll also find a Walmart Super Center in Branson Hills that features a Walmart Pharmacy.)
7. Lakeland Pharmacy: This small, local pharmacy specializes in medical equipment and supplies, and carries those hard-to-find items that often have high price tags at hospitals and clinics. They’re popular with residents for their above-and-beyond professionalism and customer service.

Take Note: Lakeland offers medical aids and items not found elsewhere in the area, as well as helpful information on the special nutritional/medicinal supplements and medications they carry, but make sure you consult with the pharmacist and/or your physician before adding anything to your health or medical treatment regiment, including anything available over-the-counter.
8. Walgreens: There are three Walgreens’ locations in the Branson area, with both offering pretty much the same services and products, including photo printing, minor medical services like vaccinations and blood pressure checks, and a large cosmetics and personal care items department.

Take Note: The Hollister location is parallel to Highway 65 and right near the entrance ramp. There is also a Lowe’s, Menard’s, Arrowhead Building Supply, two grocery stores, a Dollar General, and several dining options at the same exit.

9. Dollar General: A hugely popular discount basic goods store chain, there are many Dollar General stores in the two-county area that Branson calls home. The store is known for offering a variety of goods, including packaged foods, both frozen and shelf items (some locations have larger frozen food sections,) paper products, diapers, pet products, cleaning supplies, general household items, decor, cosmetics, and more.

Take Note: The Historic Downtown Branson location is very large, offering a greater variety of items than most locations. In the Stone and Taney Counties’ area, you’re usually no more than 6 to 9 miles from a Dollar General location.

10. Convenience Stores: Like with most popular destinations, the Branson area has a plethora of gas stations and convenience stores. Common names you’ll see in the area include Casey’s General Store, White Oak, and Rapid Roberts.

Take Note: Casey’s is very popular with locals for pizza and donuts. White Oak and Rapid Roberts are both known for sandwiches and a good selection of beer, liquor, and wines.

11. Dollar Tree: The Branson area is home to two locations of this budget-friendly staple - one in Branson Hills, another in Hollister. Whether you need just a quick box of tissues, some spray cleaner for that mess in the car, or maybe a couple of candles for a romantic dinner at the cabin, you won’t need to spend any more than necessary with a Dollar Tree nearby!

Take Note: The Hollister store shares a site pad with Menard’s; you’ll also find other big box building and home supply stores, grocery stores, fast food, and more nearby. The Branson store sits across from Target and Home Depot, and has three dining options within walking distance.
