Branson, Where Live Entertainment Variety Will Spice Up Your Vacation!

If you know Branson, you know that it’s home to lots of great variety shows - those that offer a variety of music and other entertainment in one production.  Now, in this post, we’re going to share some helpful information on a “variety” of shows, and we’ve made it easy by letting you know about six different shows you can find in just two venues!  First up, a nice theater on the Strip - also known as Highway 76 - that has five different shows on the marquee (we’ll talk about four and leave the Christmas show for a future post,) and a long-standing theater in Branson’s growing Shepherd of the Hills District that offers two great shows.  (If you love variety within one show, check out this post: “Branson “Pops” with Musical “Variety!” If a great tribute is your kind of show, then this post is for you: “When Branson Missouri Pays Tribute, Everyone Pays Attention!”)

Here’s what’s waiting for you at the King’s Castle Theatre:

Broadway - The Greatest Hits:  Many of your favorites from New York City’s Great White Way have been gathered together in one incredible show!  You’ll enjoy more than two dozen iconic numbers from Broadway’s most unforgettable hits from the past five decades, including popular productions like Cabaret, Hairspray, Chorus Line, Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, 42nd Street, Lion King, Cats, My Fair Lady, Chicago, Wicked, Aladdin, Phantom of the Opera, and Oklahoma.  All that amazing music is showcased with dazzling costumes, beautifully choreographed dance moves, and a sensational cast that’ll sing to your heart’s content!

General Schedule:  Tuesdays and Thursdays from March through October at 10:00 a.m. - from November through December 21, the schedule changes to Saturday.

Dublin’s Irish Tenors with The Celtic Ladies:  Everything you love about the music of Ireland delivered by a talented cast of lads and lassies!  A long-standing Branson fan favorite, this enchanting show also shares popular American and English numbers.  There’s something truly special about those lilting melodies and velvet-smooth harmonies that captures your imagination...lets you dream about visiting the Emerald Isle with it’s luscious green grass, rolling hills, majestic castles, charming pubs, and wonderful people.  The Tenors wil share songs like “When Irish Eyes are Smiling” and “Danny Boy,” and the lovely Ladies offer everything from “Nessun Dorma,” the aria from Puccini’s opera, Turandot, to the Nancy Sinatra pop classic, “These Boots are Made for Walking.” Now, get your green on for the delightful Dublin’s Irish Tenors with The Celtic Ladies!

General Schedule:  March through December with 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 8:00 p.m. performances depending on the date.

New Jersey Nights:  One of pop music’s most successful groups of all time, The Four Seasons - their music is wonderfully honored in this fast-paced, energetic production that boasts a cast that, literally, hits all the right notes!  Few acts can command the airwaves in one era, then return the next with a whole new award-winning sound - they hit the top spot on the charts in the 70s with “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)” “Grease,” and “My Eyes Adored You.”  Prior to their disco-like sound rising to the top, the took over the 60s in the #1 spot with hits like “Sherry,” “Rag Doll,” “Walk Like a Man,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” Featuring the same production that became a smash hit in the United States and United Kingdom, the Branson show has been thrilling audiences night after night...the only thing that’s been missing is you!

General Schedule:  Most Tuesdays and Fridays from March through October at 2:00 p.m. - changes to Saturdays for November and December.  Most Wednesdays and Saturdays from March through October at 8:00 p.m. - changes to most Wednesdays during November and December.

Sinatra & Friends: There’s a reason he’s known as the Chairman of the Board - Frank Sinatra was never just another face around the conference table - he had a presence that commanded attention and respect, with a voice as smooth as velvet, topped off with a stunning feature that earned him his other best-known nickname - Ol’ Blue Eyes. Well, Branson has welcomed him back, so to speak...at least his memorable music that can still melt the coldest of hearts - songs like the chart-topping, “Strangers in the Night,” as well as “That’s Life,” “Love and Marriage,” “New York, New York,” Sinatra’s signature song, “My Way,” and the #1 hit “Somethin’ Stupid,” recorded with daughter, Nancy.  And you won’t just hear Frank’s hits, you’ll get the unforgettable music made famous by some of his contemporaries, as well as fun film footage!

General Schedule:  Most Fridays from March through October at 10:00 a.m. and most Sundays at 2:00 p.m. (Some additional dates in March and June) and most Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m.

And here’s what the Pierce Arrow Theatre has in store for you:

Pierce Arrow Gold:  Hot live music...hot comedy...one hot show!  Pierce Arrow’s been one of Branson’s most popular shows for years, and they’ve amped up the excitement for their red-hot “Gold” show!  Founder and show-runner, Dan Britton, has assembled a stellar cast of vocalists - Travis Spratt, singing lead, Scott Fraker, baritone, and Tony Turner, the foursome’s tenor - with Britton holding down the low notes - quite literally, he’s held the Guiness record for singing the lowest note!  The show’s comic relief is delivered by the irrepressible sense of humor of James Sibley - he’s got an impressive resume that includes writing for Saturday Night Live, and appearing on hit TV comedys, like My Name is Earl. And fantastic music keeps this show atop the heap, including classic rock hits, popular country songs, patriotic numbers, and gospel greats.

General Schedule:  Most Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from April through November (and some Saturdays in December) at 8:00 p.m. They also have shows outside the usual schedule on May 26, November 10, and December 4.  Their show on New Year's Eve begins at 9 p.m.

Pierce Arrow Presents Decades:  The incomparable cast of Pierce Arrow takes us back to some of music’s greatest “Decades” with your favorites from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. You’ll enjoy everything from beautiful ballads to the hot hits of 80s hair bands...from early rock ‘n’ roll standards to the head-bangin’ fun of classic rock...from those satisfying soul sounds to dance-ready disco - you’ll find yourself wondering when you’ve ever had this much fun!  And the excitement doesn’t stop at great music, resident laugh machine, James Sibley, pops up to make sure your funny bone is still in fine working order! Nobody works harder to give you the live entertainment time of your life than the talented Pierce Arrow quartet, and their new Decades show offers them a new outlet for singing their hearts out, and letting you laugh yourself silly with Sibley!

General Schedule:  Most Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from April through December at 8:00 p.m. (As well as a performance on Saturday, December 28, also at 8:00 p.m.)
