Branson Welcomes 23 Big Name Acts to the Concert Stage for 2019!

Every year, Branson plays host to big-name concerts, headliners at special events, and limited engagement shows - 2019 is no exception. The Welk Resort, Mansion Entertainment Center, Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater, and the Grand Shanghai Theatre all present excited guests with highly anticipated performances, giving the Branson show community one more big reason to shout from the rooftops - “Branson is the home of live entertainment!”  (You can learn more about some of these visiting artists here: “New in Branson for 2019 - 17 New Reasons to Visit!” And check out many of the resident shows in Branson by following the links at the end of this post.)

Here, in no particular order, are the concerts and limited engagement events ready to entertain you in Branson this year:

1.  Vicki Lawrence & Mama - A Two Woman Show:  Remember the Carol Burnett Show or Mama’s Family?  The hit song “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia?”  Have you seen the hilarious new sitcom, The Cool Kids? Now, how you can you miss this very special opportunity? Of course you can’t!

Location:  Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater - 1600 West Highway 76

Schedule:  May 12 at 3:00 p.m.

2.  Howie Mandel:  He voiced Bobby for the animated TV show, Bobby’s World, and Gizmo in the Gremlin movies - starred in the popular TV series, St. Elsewhere - currently sits on the judging panel for America’s Got Talent - and he puts on one phenomenally funny live show...more than enough reasons to be there!

Location:  Welk Resort Theatre - 1984 Missouri Highway 165

Schedule:  May 3 at 7:00 p.m.

3.  Neal McCoy:  With awards for his music, like Entertainer of the Year by Music City News, and for his charitable work, like the ACM Home Depot Humanitarian Award, McCoy is a Branson favorite!  His hits include

“Wink,” “No Doubt About It,” “You Gotta Love That,” “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye,” and “The Shake.”

Location:  The Mansion Entertainment Center - 189 Expressway Lane

Schedule:  October 11 at 8:00 p.m. - November 1, 2, 6, 7, 20, & 21 at 3:00 p.m.

4.  Ronnie McDowell:  He pays homage to Elvis Presley with so much sincerity and reverence, it’s easy to forget that he’s a brilliant artist with his own unique style!  His hits include “All Tied Up,” “Older Women” and “You’re Gonna Ruin My Bad Reputation,” and his tribute to Elvis, “The King is Gone.”

Location:   Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater - 1600 West Highway 76

Schedule:  April 11 at 8:00 p.m. and April 14 at 11:00 a.m.

5.  Tommy James & The Shondells:  Such an incredibly iconic group, music lovers of every age know and love at least one song from Tommy James!  Their legendary catalog of music contains ”Mony Mony,” “I Think We’re Alone Now” “Hanky Panky,” “Sweet Cherry Wine,” “Crimson and Clover,” “Draggin’ the Line,” and more.

Location:  Welk Resort Theatre - 1984 Missouri State Highway 165

Schedule:  May 25 at 7:00 p.m.

6.  Gene Watson:  With an impressive multi-octave range, this singer’s singer enjoys one of country music’s most powerful voices!  “Love in the Hot Afternoon,” “Where Love Begins,” “Paper Rosie,” “Farewell Party,” “One Sided Conversation,” and “You’re Out Doing What I’m Doing Without” are just a few of his hits.

Location:  The Mansion Entertainment Center - 189 Expressway Lane.

Schedule:  October 18 at 8:00 p.m. and November 8 at 8:00 p.m.

7.  Lee Greenwood:  He wrote and recorded one of America’s most beloved patriotic songs, “God Bless the USA,” but his biggest fans want you to know that he’s got a long list of hits, including “Somebody’s Gonna Love You,” “Going, Going, Gone,” “Ring on Her Finger, Time on Her Hands,” and “I Don’t Mind the Thorns.”

Location:  Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater - 1600 West Highway 76

Schedule:  November 13 at 7:00 p.m.

8.  Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, & Mitch Ryder:  Just wow...two huge acts in one show for one ticket price!  Who could forget these Hermits’ hits: “I’m Into Something Good,”  “I’m Henry VIII, I Am,” and “Listen People,” and from Ryder, “Devil With a Blue Dress On,” “Sock It To Me Baby,” and “Jenny Take a Ride.”

Schedule:  October 18 at 7:00 p.m.

9.  Oak Ridge Boys - Shine the Light Tour:  One of Branson’s most highly anticipated annual concert acts, the Oaks have an endless collection of country and gospel hits, including “American Made,” “Bobbie Sue,” “Elvira,” “Where the Soul Never Dies,” “The Baptism of Jesse Taylor,” and “Just a Little Talk With Jesus.”

Location:  The Mansion Entertainment Center - 189 Expressway Lane.

Schedule:  April 26 & 27 - September 18, 19, 25, & 26 -  October 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, & 24 - November 1, 2, 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, & 21 - all shows are at 8:00 p.m.

10.  FRIENDS! The Musical Parody:  No other gang of buddies on television has ever captured the rapt attention and adulation quite like Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, and Joey!  Experience a phenomenal cast parody many of your favorite moments from one of television’s most successful sitcoms.

Location:  Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater - 1600 West Highway 76

Schedule:  April 7 at 7:00 p.m.

11.  Johnny Mathis’ Christmas Show:  Nobody delivers a romantic song quite like Johnny Mathis -  “Misty,” “Chances Are,” and “It's Not for Me to Say,” are just three of his hits, and all three are in the Grammy Hall of Fame. His Greatest Hits album spent an astonishing 480 continuous weeks on Billboard’s Top Albums chart.

Schedule:  November 22 & 23 at 8:00 p.m.

12.  Billy Dean & Darryl Worley:  A real Branson treat, two country superstars on one concert marquee!  Dean’s blessed us with hits like “Somewhere in My Broken Heart,” “Let Them Be Little,” and “Billy the Kid,” and Worley’s big hits include, “I Miss My Friend,” “If Something Should Happen,” and “A Good Day to Run.”

Schedule:  May 18 at 8:00 p.m.

13. Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers:  Always welcomed back to Branson with open arms, the Gatlins’ successful cross-over career includes hits like  “Love of a Lifetime,” “She Used to Be Somebody’s Baby,” “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer To You,)” and the ACM Song of the Year, “All the Gold in California.”

Location:  The Mansion Entertainment Center - 189 Expressway Lane.

Schedule:  October 25 at 8:00 p.m.

14.  The Platters:  The only officially licensed Platters’ lineup, these gifted artists share all those beautiful songs we know and love, like “Twilight Time,” “Only You,” “Great Pretender,” “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” ‘My Prayer,” “You’ve Got the Magic Touch,” “Harbor Lights,” “Ebb Tide,” and so many more!

Schedule:  October 9 at 7:00 p.m.

15.  Dailey & Vincent:  With a distinctive musical style that blends bluegrass, country, and gospel, this talented duo enjoys a huge, loyal fanbase.  Favorites from their song list include “Steel Drivin’ Man,” “Daddy Sang Bass,” “Don’t You Call My Name,“ “Cumberland River,” “On the Other Side,” and “Hills of Caroline.”

Location:  The Mansion Entertainment Center - 189 Expressway Lane.

Schedule: September 26 and October 17 & 24 at 3:00 p.m. - November 5 & 12 at 8:00 p.m. - Christmas Show on December 5 at 8:00 p.m.

16.  Moe Bandy:  This beloved country artist once packed out his own theater in Branson, now music lovers look forward to every limited engagement so they can hear songs like “Bandy the Rodeo Clown,” “It’s A Cheatin’ Situation,” “Americana,” "Rodeo Romeo,” and his #1 hit with Joe Stampley, “Just Good Ol’ Boys.” 

Location:  Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater - 1600 West Highway 76

Schedule:  October 16 at 7:00 p.m.

17.  Guy Penrod:  The former lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band, Guy’s enjoyed a successful solo career with music that’s landed him on both the Christian and Country charts, including his debut solo album, “Breathe Deep.”  He’s in the Texas Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and hosts Gospel Music Showcase for Daystar TV.

Location:  The Mansion Entertainment Center - 189 Expressway Lane.

Schedule:  March 16 at 7:00 p.m.

18.  Crystal Gayle Christmas Show:  The first female country artist to score a Platinum Album, the Grammy-winning Gayle is best known for her blockbuster crossover hit, “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.”  Other #1 hits include, “I’ll Get Over You,” “You Never Miss a Real Good Thing,” and “Talking in Your Sleep,

Location:  Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater - 1600 West Highway 76

Schedule:  November 20 at 7:00 p.m.

19.  Country’s Family Reunion:  Featuring the RFD-TV show’s co-host Bill Anderson, along with Jeannie Seely and more popular performers, you’ll love this special live presentation of the show’s cozy living room stage, with guest artists sharing personal stories and the music you know and love.

Location:  The Mansion Entertainment Center - 189 Expressway Lane.

Schedule:  October 21 & 22 at 7:00 p.m.

20.  Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Dennis Tufano, and La La Brooks:  If you thought two big acts on one stage was a big deal...Gary Lewis gave us the smash hit, “This Diamond Ring” - Tufano, lead singer of The Buckingham’s, hit big with “Kind of A Drag” - LaLa of The Crystal’s hit #1 with, “He’s a Rebel.”

Location:  Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater - 1600 West Highway 76

Schedule:  October 12 at 2:00 p.m.

21.  The Bellamy Brothers:  Another great act that hit on music charts of different genres; their debut song, “Let Your Love Flow,” topped the pop charts, and then country became their focus with songs like “When I’m Away From You,” “Redneck Girl,” and “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me.”

Schedule:  October 26 at 8:00 p.m.

22.  Mickey Gilley & Johnny Lee’s Urban Cowboy Show:  So beloved in Branson, they scheduled several dates this year!  Gilley gave us "Room Full of Roses," “Stand By Me,” and "Don't All the Girls Get Prettier at Closing Time,” and we love Lee’s "Lookin' for Love (in All the Wrong Places,)" and "One in A Million."

Location:  Grand Shanghai Theatre - 3455 Highway 76

Schedule:  April 22 - May 6, 13, 20, & 27 - September 16, 23, & 30 - November 11 & 18 - December 2 at 3:00 p.m. and April 28 & 29 - May 5, 12, 19, & 26 - September 15, 22, & 29 - October 6, 13, 20, 21, & 27 - November 3, 4, 7, 10, & 17 - December 1 at 8:00 p.m.

23.  Nathan Carter:  Branson’s favorite Irish import, Carter packs ‘em in with every visit!  The country music charts in Ireland saw the #1 spot go to Nathan with his albums “Beautiful Life,” “Where I Wanna Be,” “The Wagon Wheel Show Live,” “Stayin’ Up All Night,” and “Livin’ the Dream.”

Schedule:  November 7, 10, 14, & 17 at 3:00 p.m. and November 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, & 19 at 8:00 p.m.
