Branson Missouri Shopping - It’s a Really Big Deal!

And that holds true in more ways than one!  Branson is a big shopping destination that offers some really big places to shop - places like Tanger Outlets, Branson Landing, and the Shoppes at Branson Meadows, as well as big shopping experiences at centers like Grand Village Shops, Coffelt Craft Village, Whitney’s World of Crafts, the Apple Tree Mall, and the Branson Mill Craft Village.  And then there are your favorite big box and department stores, including Kohl’s, Books-A-Million, Best Buy, Walmart Super Center, PetsCo, Target, TJ Maxx, Home Depot, Pier 1 Imports, and Bed, Bath & Beyond.  And we certainly can’t forget the shopping that’s under the radar - the plethora of flea markets and thrift shops found in the Branson area in nearly every part of town. In Branson’s Historic Downtown District, you’ll find dozens of shops selling everything from old-fashioned candy to shoes - but the must-not-miss downtown shopping destination is definitely Dicks 5 & 10 - trust us on this one, just go!

In addition to all the more obvious places to shop, you’d be surprised at the unique items and special deals waiting to be found at the nearly countless gift shops located in theaters and attractions all over the area.  At these fun gift shops, you’ll find everything from unusual hand-made items to jewelry, as well as really special souvenir items -- for example, several items available at the Grand Shanghai Theatre gift shop can be inscribed with your name...in authentic Chinese characters!

For Branson’s big shopping spots, let’s start with what you can expect to find at Tanger Outlets...an Eddie Bauer Outlet, Banana Republic Factory Store, Stride Rite, Reebok, Rockport, Seiko, The Fudgery, and so many other popular brands.  You can get gift cards good for lots of different stores in the center, or pick up a shopper’s favorite - the Little Red Book of Big Savings, a $5 digital version will net you 90 days of deals, or you can pick up a hard copy at Shopper Services at the center. Getting something tasty to eat to maintain your shopping stamina is easy at Tanger; there’s a nice A&W Restaurant with all your classic favorites, and great sandwiches and other eats are waiting for your hungry belly at King’s Subs & Deli.  If you’ve been to Tanger in Branson in the past, and it’s been a few years, you’ll be happy to know that additional parking has been created, making your shopping experience, especially for the Christmas season, a bit more convenient.

And then there’s Branson’s English village-like Grand Village Shops, a quaint collection of unique retailers offering some of the area’s most delightful shopping!  You won’t find a batch of chain stores here, instead there’s Branson’s only full-service, independent book store - T. Charleston’s Books & Gifts, handcrafted olive oil and goat’s milk soaps and other bath products at Lori’s Soap Market, a family owned jewelry store - Tatman’s Fine Jewelry - and the work of noted artists at Thomas Kinkade Art Gallery and Peter Engler Designs.  Other shops include a year-round Christmas store - Kringles - a gift shop filled with a wide variety of gift items, including food items - Mulberry Mill - and so many other neat places. And dining is special, too, at Sugar Leaf Bakery (also serving breakfast and lunch items,) and Mel’s Hard Luck Diner.

Branson Landing - if you know Branson at all, you’re familiar with the incredible collection of shops, restaurants, attractions, lodging, and special events offered at this lakeside center.  Lying just downhill from Historic Downtown Branson, the Landing is anchored by a Belk Department store and the biggest name in fishing supplies, outdoor, and athletic gear, boats, and more - Bass Pro Shops.  You’ll find familiar brands and designers on storefronts throughout the Landing, including Bath & Body Works, Rue 21, Victoria’s Secret, Yankee Candle, Brighton, New Balance, Hot Topic, and PINK. Dining options abound, including Garfield’s Restaurant & Pub, Saltgrass Steak House, Famous Dave’s BBQ, Joe’s Crab Shack, Cantina Laredo, and Buffalo Wild Wings.  The centerpiece of the Landing is the multi-million dollar fountain show that combines water, light, and fire set to music, and the amphitheatre style seating facing the fountains and scenic Lake Taneycomo is often the scene of live music and other exciting events.

The Shoppes at Branson Meadows is a multi-use center that houses retail, meeting space, dining, and Branson’s only multi-plex movie house outside the IMAX Entertainment Complex (which also happens to own Branson Meadows Cinemas.)  Locally-owned spots include Ozark Quilts and a great clothing resale shop - Consignment Clothing Exchange, as well as Branson’s only formal wear boutique, Touch of Class. Familiar brands include Bon Worth, Tuesday Morning, Hush Puppies, and VF Factory Outlet, a huge store that carries favorite denim labels, like Lee and Wrangler, among other popular names in fashion. You’ll discover incredible food and a great pub atmosphere at BucketList, as well as evenings with live music.  There’s even The Smart Business Center, a cooperatively sponsored incubator-style operation that fosters new business ventures, providing them with needed basic services to help get them up and running.

Obviously, we haven’t even touched on a huge portion of Branson’s shopping opportunities, including the many large, multi-vendor craft centers and villages, the dozens of boutiques and independent retailers dealing in a huge variety of goods, even more familiar department stores, and the list goes on.  Although you don’t really need “tickets” to shop, give us a call anyway and we’ll help you find shows, attractions, and lodging near shopping opportunities all over town...actually, there isn’t a place you can stay, eat, sleep, or enjoy a show that doesn’t have shopping nearby or even right in the same building!  Jot down 877-688-3179 for vacation planing specialists that’ll help you put together your ultimate Branson shopping visit!
