We went on and on recently about all the great country music shows in Branson, but what about all the music that’s not country? Branson has plenty of shows featuring great pop music, as well as a nice list of shows offering a variety of music. Even for those with a real passion for country enjoy shaking up their show time with some current pop songs, oldies, the standards, and even a few broadway tunes - it’s good to expand your musical horizons from time to time! And let’s not forget everyone out there who’s first music love is good ol’ rock ‘n roll! (If you’re one of our big country fans, you’ll enjoy this: “Branson - Where to Get Your Country On in the Home of Live Entertainment!”)
In this post, we’re featuring shows that play pretty much everything, including a couple who might throw in a few country tunes here and there. We didn’t include tribute shows - not because we don’t absolutely love them, but because our next post is devoted entirely to Branson’s destination dominence when it comes to delivering high quality tributes to many of music’s biggest names! (Branson also offers shows that aren’t music-centered, including those loaded with magic: “Branson, Missouri - What a Magical Place!”)
Here’s where to find a lot of good music - pop, rock, variety, and more:
All Hands on Deck: Good news - it’s back! The number of shows is limited, but for fans of feel-good live entertainment with a patriotic theme, planning your trip around their schedule is definitely worth the effort. Set in 1942, the production recalls an American roadshow and radio broadcast, complete with songs of the era and classic commercials. Songs include “America The Beautiful,” “Chattanooga Choo-Choo,” “Don’t Fence Me In,” and “I’m In The Mood For Love.”
You’ll find this show at: The Dutton Family Theater - 3454 West Highway 76 (a.k.a. Country Music Boulevard or The Strip)
Schedule: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - November 1 through 22 and December 4 through 6
What’s different about All Hands on Deck? The 1940s setting, music, and sense of patriotic pride of that era in American entertainment.
Broadway to Bublé Starring George Dyer: Just as the name implies, the beloved tenor with a voice as big as his smile offers a delightful variety of genres in this song-filled celebration of music! A bit of Broadway, a touch of pop, and even a tad bit of opera finds it’s way into this incredible production!
You’ll find this show at: The Americana Theatre - 2905 West Highway 76
Schedule: 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. (depends on day of the week) - April 2 through December 12
What’s different about Broadway to Bublé? Last we checked, nobody else in Branson is sharing their operatic talents!
Doug Gabriel: Easily one of Branson’s most enduring entertainers, Doug has one of those big voices that fills the theater, and is well-suited to a variety of songs. His talented family joins him on stage, and together they deliver current and classic hits from a wide range of genres, comedy, dance, and a family harmony that makes for an unforgettable show!

What’s different about Doug Gabriel? Doug can play a “mufftar,” we’ll let you discover just what that means!
The Duttons: One of Branson’s favorite “big family” shows - and we mean that literally, they have a very big family and many of them share the stage. They play a variety of music, from bluegrass to classical, and display their exceptional talent in a surprising number of musical instruments in a show that’s also filled with a belly-laughter level of comedy!
You’ll find this show at: The Dutton Family Theater - 3454 West Highway 76
Schedule: 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. - (depends on day of the week) - April 5 through December 10
What’s different about The Duttons? The plethora of instruments they play, and talent so huge that every judge, including the infamously grumpy Simon Cowell, on America’s Got Talent truly loves them!
Haygoods: Dazzling, dynamic, high-energy, cutting-edge, surprising...we could use up a whole bunch of space trying to include every adjective that describes the Haygoods! One of Branson’s longest running shows, these brilliant young artists have been thrilling audiences ever since their days stealing the limelight at Silver Dollar City!
You’ll find this show at: Clay Cooper Theatre - 3216 West Highway 76
Schedule: 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from February 9 through December 28 (and a handful of 2:00 p.m. performances)
What’s different about Haygoods? The non-stop action - it’s pretty astonishing to witness!
The Hughes Music Show: Another of Branson’s fantastic family shows - the huge family on stage packs the audiences with families night after night! The variety of music is complemented by the thoughtful selection of everything from set pieces to costumes, and practically every member of the family gets in on the act - we’d probably struggle to find a bigger performing family anywhere else on earth!
You’ll find this show at: Hughes Family Theater - 3425 West Highway 76
Schedule: 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday (and Monday in September) from March 6 through October 25 - 8:00 p.m. on most Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from February 5 through October 26
What’s different about The Hughes Music Show? Did we mention how surprisingly HUGE this family is, and every last one of them has acquired the family talent gene!
Magnificent Seven: Another great show that’s filled to the brim with variety...of everything! As the name says, you’ll enjoy seven talented performers who, surprisingly, manage 200 (yep, 200) costume changes, and 75 songs covering the 40s through to the hits of today! Magnificent is a lofty word, but this experienced cast more than lives up to it!
You’ll find this show at: Hamners’ Variety Theatre - 3090 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway
Schedule: 10:00 a.m. on Friday from April 13 through December 7 - 7:00 p.m. on most Sundays and Mondays from April 7 through December 9
What’s different about Magnificent Seven? It’s a real visual treat with all those glorious costumes, and a gift to the ears with so much music to enjoy!
SIX: There’s six of them - six honest-to-goodness brothers who appear to have mastered the impossible - delivering an orchestra of instruments without any...well, without any instruments! You’ve likely enjoyed a cappella performances before, but this is singing with every instrumental sound vocally created by the same six brothers who provide the phenomenal vocals - it’s a real musical miracle to behold!
You’ll find this show at: Hughes Family Theater - 3425 West Highway 76
Schedule: 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday from March 2 through December 14 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from March 1 through December 20
What’s different about SIX? Thoughtful song selection and how hard it is to believe there isn’t a band hiding somewhere near the stage!
Well, if you can’t find something on this list of live entertainment options to satisfy your Branson search for your favorite style of music, well….stay tuned - maybe one of our terrific tribute shows will fill your prescription for music madness!
