Clay Cooper has been wowing crowds here for so long, he nearly qualifies as a Branson pioneer! Although the show goes by Clay Cooper’s Country Express, this audience favorite includes a wide variety of music and other lively entertainment - dancing and a generous dose of knee-slappin’ humor is laced into a state-of-the-art production that covers a wide range of music genres, including gospel, rock ‘n’ roll, classic and not-so-long-ago country hits, as well as the songs on today’s country charts, you’ll even hear music that brings out the red, white, and blue side of the soul that’s an integral part of the character of Branson.
Cooper first became popular with Branson audiences when, as a teenager of just 16, he visited Branson to perform with the Texas Goldminors, singing and playing bass. He enjoyed the experience of performing here so much, especially making lots of new friends in every audience, he decided it was time to put his name on the marquee and become a treasured fixture among the phenomenal live show industry. He barely looks old enough now, but Clay’s been delighting Branson audiences for more than 33 years, and he still enjoys hanging around after every performance, greeting newcomers to his show, as well as spending a few minutes with his long-time loyal fans who return year after year.
In addition to the headliner, Clay Cooper’s Country Express features Tina Cooper - Clay’s wife leads the talented troupe of ten dancers in the show, choreographing their dance numbers and providing a huge injection of energy into every performance. Also providing a nice spark to the show is the trio, Third Power, and Clay and Tina’s youngsters, Colton and Caden - two multi-talented entertainers who’ve already proven that the Cooper talent apple didn’t fall far from the tree! And what long-running Branson show would be complete without a whole lot of laughter; Clay’s show gets more than a generous dose from the downright hilarious antics of Matt Gumm! Anyone who visits Branson regularly, or is lucky enough to live here, knows about Matt Gumm - easily one of the funniest guys ever to walk the face of the earth!
