Given they still look like an energetic group of teenagers on stage, it’s hard to believe they’ve been dazzling packed houses for more than 25 years! The Haygoods are one of Branson’s hottest tickets every season, and just a few minutes into one of their awe-inspiring performances, you can easily see why. Siblings Timothy, Patrick, Dominic, Michael, Matthew, and lone sister, Catherine, carry out every show with uncontainable enthusiasm and talent, and with a love for the fine art of delivering a great song that keeps them on everyone’s “must see” list for every visit to Branson. Each is an incredible vocalist and musician; you’ll witness their many years of experience and innate skill on more than 20 instruments, including fiddle, keyboards, drums, horns, and lead, rhythm and bass guitar.
So, how did this group of good lookin’ artists end up headlining one of Branson’s best shows? Hailing from Texas, where oldest brother, Timothy, spurred the musical bug in his siblings when he started playing violin, soon the kids were all singing, playing instruments, and entertaining folks at fairs, festivals, and anywhere else they could perform. When the family moved to Branson during the first big boom years of the early 90s, they got a highly coveted gig entertaining the masses at Silver Dollar City, a phenomenal multi-award-winning theme park that was instrumental in putting Branson on the tourism destination map. The group literally grew up while maintaining a heavy performance schedule at the park for eight years, all while they kept up with their school work and lessons in music and dance.
After their successful tenure with Silver Dollar City, the Haygoods moved on to headline their own show in a Branson theater; they had a couple of stints in different venues, including a successful run for RFD-TV that included live performances in the theater, and their own show on the popular network. During this time, they cut their first album, said goodbye to two of their brothers when Aaron and Shawn left to pursue other business ventures, toured extensively throughout China, and focused on honing every aspect, every tiny detail of their production. With a growing reputation for putting on a show filled with attention-grabbing features, including special effects, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, dazzling costumes, and even a few mind-blowing stage acrobatics, the gang sought out a prime spot on Branson’s famed Highway 76, a.k.a. The Strip. That opportunity came with Clay Cooper; in 2014, they joined up with another of Branson’s biggest stars and they’ve been holding court at Cooper’s theater ever since.
In 2018, the Haygoods’ festive and popular Christmas show hit the road, performing for thrilled crowds in St. Louis and St. Joseph, Missouri, a well as Bartlesville, Oklahoma. That year also saw them focused on their third album, and spending countless hours in the studio putting that same professionalism and attention to detail that’s found in every live performance into their recorded music. The siblings are counting on their long-running Branson reign, the success of their RFD-TV show, their partnership with Barry Williams in his television show, “A Very Barry Branson,” and their ongoing legions of fans everywhere to make this album as successful as their other recordings.
Perfecting certain audience-favorite features of their show from one season to the next, the Haygoods spend the rare bit of time they take off to develop an entirely new show for each new year. Currently, their top-notch production includes a wide variety of songs, including pop, rock, country, and other genres of music, as well as even more routines, humor, special effects, eye-catching costumes, and the list goes on. You’re sure to enjoy a multitude of fabulous shows here, but remember, you’re only a real Branson show enthusiast when you’ve added The Haygoods to your list of favorites!
