If you’ve yet to experience Branson’s newest winery, bearing the name of the most award-winning wines in Missouri, isn’t it time you discovered St. James? Of course it is! The chance to sample some of the tastiest wines around is more than enough to bring anyone through the door, but it’s the fabulous opportunity to take advantage of St. James Premium Wine Tasting Experience, peruse the charming gift shop, sip wine and enjoy a game or just some good conversation in the pretty outdoor courtyard, or grab a bite of scrumptious St. James pizza that’ll keep you around and bring you back time and again.
In addition to being the largest name in wine in the state, St. James was recently honored as Branson’s Best Winery by Best Of Branson in their nationwide survey! Sure, Branson has a very nice selection of other wineries and several distilleries that have opened their doors over the past few years, but St. James stands apart for several things, not least of which is offering Missouri’s best-selling fruit wine, the delightfully and deliciously satisfying Blackberry Wine. St. James is also the only winery offering a tasty selection of appetizers, an impressive array of Signature Pizzas, including the popular Cali Bacon Chicken and Big Kahuna, and sweet treats like Chocolate Peanut Butter Bistro Pie. It’s also unique in having a location right in the city of Branson in the popular Entertainment District of Highway 76, yet offering a private, attractive outdoor, fenced courtyard that features patio-style dining, bocce ball courts, a peacefully pretty water feature, and more.
One of St. James Branson’s more popular features is the new Premium Wine Tasting Experience. Offered at a reasonable rate, and separate from the complimentary tastings that are always available, this special experience features one-ounce pours of six different wines of your choosing from more than 30 wines, including the premium Winemaker series, complemented by helpful tips from a local St. James expert that include pairing food with each wine. You’ll also receive a St. James 16-ounce souvenir glass, along with crackers and chocolate chips to enhance your tasting experience, all included in the low price of your Premium Wine Tasting Experience. And what’s probably the very best part of this special tasting is getting a great deal on your favorite bottle of wine...or two bottles, or maybe three - who’s counting? Hey, why not get the most out of this fantastic deal, and leave with a better understanding of how to select the perfect wine for any occasion!
If you’re familiar with Missouri wine, then you know the St. James name; founded in and named for the quaint city of St. James, Missouri, the family-owned and operated company opened its doors in 1970. Before the era of Prohibition descended on the country, the state was known for producing excellent wine. The Hofherr family re-established the grapes of Missouri, using the flavorful fruit to bring back the wine so many people had been missing. Outside the home base area, Branson is the only destination to be blessed with a St. James Winery location, and the operation here has been very successful and a popular addition to the wonderful list of attractions enjoyed year-round.
When it comes to accolades, few wineries can boast the success enjoyed by St. James, with competitions delivering awards and acknowledgements for more than a dozen different wines. Semi-Dry St. James wines include Vignoles, and Friendship Red or White, and the Dry wines include Estate Norton, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pioneer White or Red. One of the more popular lines; however, is the fruit flavors of St. James, including Cherry, Raspberry, Peach, and the aforementioned Blackberry that outsells every other fruit wine in the state of Missouri! And coming soon, the excusive St. James Branson Reserve - we’ll keep you posted!
Once again, if you haven’t yet experienced the magic of St. James Winery in Branson, make plans now to stop in for a sip or two, a bottle or a case to take back home to share (or not,) and maybe to spend a little time indulging in a pizza while relaxing on the patio!
