Best of Branson - Week of May 27, 2018 - What We Love In Branson This Week!

It’s been a beautiful holiday weekend in Branson, and for #12 of our weekly article series, “What We Love In Branson This Week,” we’ve got the re-opening of a local landmark, an update from a favorite bluegrass show, a new lineup of Legends, and a fast, fun way to explore the local landscape!

In this weekly series, we talk about shows, attractions, activities, and more - everything we’re sure you’ll love about Branson...check us out every Sunday to see what we’re lovin’ lately!

Here, in alphabetical order, is What We Love in Branson This Week:

Legends in Concert:  A sizzlin’ lineup for summer has arrived in Branson, courtesy of the world’s most famous tribute show!

3 Reasons Why We Love Legends in Concert

1. Authentic tributes!  To call it “impersonation” wouldn’t do it justice, the entertainers who “become” the artists right before your eyes are the best in the business - it’s especially enjoyable to experience performances that pay tribute to legends who left us far too soon.

2. What a lineup!  For the summer season, you’ll enjoy performances that honor country royalty, Garth Brooks, the unforgettable fun of The Blues Brothers, the magic of Michael Jackson, the incomparable Adele, and the king of rock ‘n’ roll, Elvis himself!

3. More than the show!  Legends’ theater is housed in a complex that also features a car museum that showcases famous vehicles, VIP Branson tours, and the delightfully delicious Hurts Donuts.

Schedule this week:  Sunday, May 27 through Tuesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 31 through Saturday, June 2 - shows at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Location:  Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater - 1600 West Highway 76

Petersen Family Bluegrass Band:  Back in Branson for the eighth season, this fabulously talented family offers up even more of the best in bluegrass music.

3 Reasons Why We Love the Petersen Family Bluegrass Band

1. We all love bluegrass!  Whether you consider pop, rock, blues, or country to be your favorite genre, there’s something about bluegrass music that appeals to music fans across genres and generations.

2. All in the family!  There’s something special about families who play music together - Branson is well-known for a great selection of entertainment families, and the Petersen’s more than hold their own with the best of ‘em!

3. Individual talent! As a group they’re incredible, but each one is uniquely talented, and that was proven to the whole country when sister, Ellen, got the golden ticket from American Idol and became one of that season’s top 48 hopefuls.

Schedule this week:  Tuesday, May 29 & Thursday, May 31 - 2:00 p.m.

Location:  The Little Opry Theatre at the IMAX Entertainment Complex - 3562 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway

Shepherd of the Hills Inspiration Tower:  Reopening this Memorial Day weekend, the newly renovated Tower is one of Branson’s most distinct landmarks, visible on an Ozarks’ mountaintop, it affords guests the best views you’ll find in the area.

3 Reasons Why We Love Inspiration Tower

1. Oh, that view!  Stunning wouldn’t be adequate to describe the sights of Branson and the gorgeous Ozarks’ countryside visible from the 230-foot structure. The changing seasons make several visits each year pretty much mandatory!

2. Impressive stats!  This majestic structure contains 92,000 pounds of steel and 4,400 square feet of glass, and can withstand wind gusts of up to 224 miles per hour.  A clear day allows for views that are as far as 90 miles in the distance!

3. More than a view!  Two glass elevators take you up to the Tower’s observation deck - that’s a pretty amazing elevator ride!  There’s also a great audio tour that shares points of interests with guests, and the base of the Tower features a nice gift shop.

Schedule this week:  Open year-round, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Location:  Shepherd of the Hills Homestead - 5586 West Highway 76

Shepherd of the Hills Off-Roads Ozark ATV Adventures:  The scenic acreage that surrounds the Homestead is perfect for exploring on an ATV.

3 Reasons Why We Love Off-Roads Ozark ATV Adventures

1. The need for speed!  With vehicles like the Can-Am 800cc Commander and 1000cc Maverick, you’ll get the horsepower necessary to make for an exciting, yet still safe, excursion through the Homestead’s vast countryside.

2. Tour options!  For beginners or less experienced riders, the one-hour excursion offers 30 minutes of instruction before heading off on a 30-minute adventure.  For more skilled enthusiasts, the 90-minute excursion should be right up their alley...or, make that “right down their trail!”

3. Good grubby fun!  That’s right, these aren’t trails for clean freaks - plan on getting dirty and doing it with a great big smile on your face!

Schedule this week:  Time slots are reserved in advance and change by season, so call us for availability for both the one-hour and 90-minute tours.

Location:   Shepherd of the Hills Homestead - 5586 West Highway 76
