Best Places to Grocery Shop in Branson

Branson, Missouri has many places to shop for groceries.  Whether you are renting a house, cabin or staying in your timeshare - groceries are important.  Here is a quick guide to help you navigate the different markets and options Branson has to offer.

  1. Natural Foods of the Branson Area

Farmers Market at Sunfest – 225 Cross Creek Blvd

Open Saturdays 8am - noon, Seasonally

Known for its homegrown products, the Farmers Market at Sunfest sells local, hydroponically grown fresh vegetables and fruits, such as heads of lettuce from nearby Five Oaks Farm. This open-air market is located outside of the Sunfest Food Market, a natural food store also selling locally grown and raised products. Sunfest also offers free range non-GMO chicken and eggs, grass-fed beef, lamb, and pastured pork.

McKenna Family Farm - 3265 HWY F

Open Saturdays, May - Autumn

With their famous, annual pumpkin patch, this is a great place to find amazing harvest decorations and unique seasonal vegetables. From all sorts of odd shaped gourds and festive autumn scarecrows to steeping cornstalks and massive pumpkins, this farmer’s market is known by the locals to have the best fall decorations around. Their onsite store also sells fresh-baked pies, pumpkin cookies, pork by the pound from pigs raised on their farm and other delectable homegrown goods. Field trips, birthday parties, campfires and farm tours are all available upon request. Prices can be found on their website A Wedding chapel is also available onsite. Nature’s Sunshine Health Foods - 827 W Main St

Open Weekdays 9am – 6pm and Saturdays 9am - 5pm (Closed Sundays)

Nature’s Sunshine is famous for their knowledgeable staff and fully stocked store. Located in Koi Garden Plaza near the MO-65 exit, this grocery store offers one of the widest varieties of natural and organic foods, along with a huge selection of name-brand vitamins and supplements. Nature’s Sunshine sells many organically-produced products like locally raised free range chickens with no arsenic in their diets, a wide array of gluten-free products, fish and almond oils and supplements, homeopathic remedies for poison ivy, and specialized vitamins and supplements for men, women, and children.


  1. Branson’s Economy-Stores

Dollar General – 1447 MO-248, 260 Cooper Creek Rd, and 160 Southtowne Blvd in Hollister

Three Dollar General locations provide cheap prices on household products and groceries in the Branson area. The 1447 MO-248 store is between Country Mart and Kmart in a high-traffic shopping center, the 260 Cooper Creek Rd location is near the Cooper Creek Resort Campground, and the Hollister store is in the shopping center next to Country Mart and Pizza by the Chef.

Dollar Tree – 1076 Branson Hills Parkway

The Dollar Tree is sandwiched between Wendy’s and Pizza Hut within a shopping center off of Branson Hills Parkway. This Dollar Tree prides itself on being stocked with plenty of seasonal items and a selection of groceries.


  1. Large Chain Stores

Walmart – 2050 HWY 76 and 1101 Branson Hills Parkway

The Branson Hills Parkway store has a larger selection of groceries than the HWY 76 location, but the HWY 76 store has less customers and provides a speedier shopping experience. Both locations have groceries, auto/tire service centers, sporting goods, and more

Harter House – 175 Gage Dr in Hollister and 11798 MO-13 in Kimberling City

Harter House, known for their full-service meat counter with skilled butchers and large selection of meats, will even offer to take your groceries out to your vehicle. They also offer custom meat gift packs, party trays, and gift baskets.

Country Mart – 1447 MO-248, 200 Southtowne Blvd in Hollister, and HWY 13 & 76 in Branson West

In addition to a large selection of groceries, Country Mart also has an ATM, Western Union station, a video center, and Starbucks (no Starbucks in Branson West store).

Price Chopper – 2210 HWY 76

Price Chopper is a large-scale grocery store known for its salad bar ($5.99/lb., $3.99/lb. Tuesdays) with over 80 items to choose from. There’s also Wok This Way Chinese and Ronaldo’s Pizza, along with a deli, bakery, and floral center.

Target – 1200 Branson Hills Parkway and Kmart – 1477 MO-248

Target and Kmart in Branson both offer a limited selection of essential groceries, including frozen foods. Target stands next to Home Depot and across the street from Walmart, and Kmart is located next to Country Mart and a McDonald’s.

Walgreens – 210 HWY 165, 101 E Main St, and 101 Industrial Park Dr in Hollister

CVS – 105 Loyd St

Walgreens and CVS in Branson have a selected amount of groceries and seasonal items, as well as pharmacies where visitors can get their prescriptions filled. Walgreens pharmacy is open weekdays 9am – 9pm and weekends 9am – 5pm. CVS pharmacy hours are weekdays 9am – 9pm and weekends 10am – 8pm.


  1. Country Stores/Bakeries

Amish Country Store - 3100 Gretna Rd

With a wide array of Amish noodles, candies, snacks, and all sorts of preserves, this country store has one of the widest stocks of homemade bulk foods around. This unique grocery vendor also offers gluten-free, organic, non-GMO products, and growth hormone-free cheese and butter. The Amish Country Store also sells high-quality, solid-oak and cherry wood handcrafted furniture such as beds, tables, chairs, armoires and more.

Fall Creek Bakery - 3914 Fall Creek Rd

Baking specialty pastries, hand-crafted breads, wedding cakes and other scrumptious edibles, Fall Creek Bakery’s mission is “to make high-quality, great tasting baked goods available to the community, and to the many tourists who visit each year.” All recipes are all natural and preservative-free. This little bakery is located inside a wooden cabin right off Fall Creek Rd and is open seasonally.

Sugar Leaf Bakery and Café - 2800 HWY 76

Another well-known local favorite is Sugar Leaf Bakery and Café, famous for mouthwatering cupcakes, pies, cobblers, world-famous wedding cakes and other delicacies. Along with their outstanding bakery, Sugar Leaf also offers guests a Café for a one-of-a-kind dining experience.

Petco - 993 Branson Hills Parkway, PetSmart - 3500 S Glenstone Ave in Springfield

Forgetting a particular pet food can cause a minor crisis while on vacation. Luckily, Petco of Branson and PetSmart in Springfield both offer a huge selection of natural, organic, and name brand pet foods otherwise not found in average grocery stores. They offer pet supplies for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rodents, and other untraditional pets, as well as overnight boarding (PetSmart), full-service grooming, free samples, and aquatics departments.

The Beef Jerky Outlet specializes in many varieties of jerky flavors made in the USA. Across the street from Taco Bell and Walmart, The Beef Jerky Outlet has all different kinds of jerky, including game, chicken, turkey, bacon, ham, and salmon, as well as rubs and marinades, popcorns, cheeses, and more.
